Expecting entry level person ( recent grad) with similar background with strong baseline skill and ability to learn front office production. Training will be offered!

Role & Responsibilities:

The ULL team is responsible for management of Deutsche Bank’s premier Ultra Low Latency trading platform execution spanning 15 data-centers in 4 countries providing algorithmic execution, market data and post-trade services to over a dozen critical business applications in Equity Derivatives, FX, Rates, Credit and Commodities.

Each individual is expected to balance between fast response (e.g. electronic trading monitoring and incident management) and longer term activities (e.g. DevOps, release planning, security and audit reviews). A single day or even a single hour is likely to see a mix of both. Team members must will be equally proficient at working with development and engineering to understand a low level Unix issue costing microseconds and directly assisting a head of desk set appropriate controls for risks in the millions.



Technical Skills:

  • Unix: Expert

  • Linux & Solaris.

  • Low level command and process management: Intermediate

  • Low latency technologies (kernel bypass, cpu isolation).


  • Expert shell scripting (e.g. bash), perl and/or python


  • Intermediate C/C++, java


  • Required – Intermediate : Oracle SQL reporting, & query profiling.

  • Optional – KDB


  • Required – Intermediate : TCP/IP, UDP, & network monitoring.

  • Optional – Low latency networks, multicast, & routing.


  • One or more of - LBM (Informatica UltraMessaging), Tibco EMS, Solace

  • Electronic Trading: experience with low level protocol debugging of OMS protocols (e.g. FIX, OUCH), MD protocols (e.g. MDP 3.0, ITCH) across most of the following markets (CME, ICE, Reuters, EBS, HotSpot, Currenex, ParFX, BGC MidFX, BrokerTec, Nasdaq OMX eSpeed, Dealerweb, OPRA, Eurex, iSwap)

Business Skills:

  • Understand business fundamentals of FIC electronic trading including FX (spot, forwards), Rates (cash, futures), and commodities. Also Equity derivatives (US and Eurex options).

  • Written and verbal communication skills sufficient to communicate directly with business and technical partners at all levels.

  • Experience with supporting quantitative analysts in a Quant-Driven-Development environment.
